Inaugural fundraising event a huge success
May 13, 2015
Whitehorse, Yukon – Welcome to a journey of literature, train travel, culinary delights and most of all… the imagination!
An inaugural fundraising event benefiting the Yukon Imagination Library – a territory-wide, family literacy initiative that provides one free book every month to enrolled Yukon children from their birth to the age of five.
Research continues to demonstrate that access to books and reading in the home are strong determinants in the future academic (and lifelong) success of a child. Since its inception in 2007, the Yukon Imagination Library has proven immensely popular with children, parents and educators, and currently has over 1400 children enrolled in the program.
The event featured a live auction, silent auction, and raffle draws.
Together we raised over $8,000!
