Our Appeal
The Yukon Imagination Library is a territory-wide family literacy initiative that provides one free book per month to every enrolled Yukon child from his or her birth to the age of five.
60 free books in all to each and every child in the territory before he or she even enters kindergarten!
This vital program was created by country music legend Dolly Parton (via her Dollywood Foundation) to help address low literacy rates in her home state of Tennessee and in 2007, was brought to the Yukon by the Rendezvous Rotary Club of Whitehorse.
The Yukon Imagination Library currently reaches almost 60 per cent of our territory’s children (over 1,200) and we are working diligently to increase this statistic and reach more families with our program.
We are a volunteer-run initiative and rely on the support and generosity of our industry, government and community partners in order to survive and thrive.
We are committed to celebrating and recognizing the invaluable contributions of our partners, as without them, the efforts of the Yukon Imagination Library would simply not be possible.
On the following page, please find the partnership opportunities and benefits available to you, your company or your organization.
Thank you in advance for your support and for your commitment to improving the literacy levels, and the future success, of our Yukon children and their families.
